Lemon Basil Cashew Cream Sauce (dairy free, paleo)

The creamiest, most flavorful dairy free pasta sauce.


I feel like I say that every time I make a new pasta sauce recipe... but really- this one is SO delicious. This goes great with zucchini noodles or your favorite pasta, as well as meatballs or your favorite plant-based protein.

  • 1/2 cup raw cashews
  • 1/2 cup water
  • juice of 1 large lemon
  • 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • handful of fresh basil (dried will not work!)
  • 1 garlic glove
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • black pepper, to taste
  1. Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender on high until smooth. (you'll need a powerful blender for this to work). Optional: add more water if a thinner sauce is desired
  2. Taste sauce and adjust seasonings. Serve, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
