my guide to austin, tx.

austin has a special place in my heart.

I went here for the second time this summer, and I had so many places I wanted to check off my bucket list. I knocked off a big chunk of the list, but I definitely see another trip in the near future to get to even more spots! Austin just has so many fun, eclectic, and unique restaurants. It's a foodie's heaven!

Below is the list of places I loved this trip:

picnik

An absolute MUST if you're into the paleo/bulletproof scene! The menu is insane, with almost everything being paleo. All the food is cooked in either avocado and coconut oil, instead of the inflammatory oils often found in other restaurants. They also have every bulletproof style coffee or tea drink you could ever want!

I also highly recommend stopping by Picnik's food trailer-- they have grab and go paleo tacos (all on Siete grain free tortillas), desserts, and bulletproof drinks. I would go here every day if I lived in Austin! My dream food truck.

One of the best restaurants I've been to! Everything on the Vietnamese inspired menu looked so amazing-- we came for a light bite and got the flank stank spring rolls and ginger chili oil dumplings. The drinks are also great and the decor/vibes are too cute! I will definitely be back here. Highly recommend!

This place was too cute for words! Homey, adorable vibes with a great menu and pastries. I got the lemon ricotta pancakes, and they were absolutely amazing. The huevos rancheros was also to die for!

suerte

this newer Mexican-inspired spot in East Austin was so perfect for a group dinner. everything we got was amazing- especially the brisket tacos. the decor was adorable- bathrooms covered in pink flamingo wall paper and cute aztec quilting from the pillows to the ceiling. simple and delicious food with lots of flavor. and fun drinks, too! i highly recommend this place with a group!

veracruz taco truck

veracruz has both a food truck and a sit down restaurant. i love the concept of ordering at the truck that austin is so known for -- we got there early(ish) morning so that the wait wasn't too long. great authentic breakfast tacos and fresh fruit smoothies!

texas farmers' market at mueller

this is the farmers' market you want to hit up! i absolutely love exploring farmers' markets in new cities, and I knew Austin was going to have a good one! all the fresh produce, breakfast tacos, elixers, paleo treats, and fun popsicles. i wanted everything! a must for a Sunday morning activity!
