72 hours in boulder, co restaurant guide.
so excited to put this guide together for you guys!
boulder will always be one of my favorite places to visit for the food and the mountain views, but now it’s even more special since getting engaged there on our most recent trip :)
blake really planned the most perfect weekend- from our air bnb, to the proposal in the mountains, and the best 4 course meal ever. we had the best 72 hours- the happiest i have truly ever been.
in between all the celebrating and being on cloud 9, we ate some amazing food. below our my favorites!
where we stayed
ok…air bnb for the win- seriously! i could not get over the place that blake found for us to stay. it was me to an absolute T- my dream little cozy mountain view stay. the name of the place is the sunshine house, and it is the guest house to (an insanely huge and gorgeous) home. we didn’t see the owners at all and totally felt like we were in our own little snow globe. it was gorgeous and warm the first day, and then the prettiest snow fall ever the second day- the ideal colorado weekend.
keep in mind, this guest house is small. it was perfect for us, but i wouldn’t recommend for more than two people or two plus a child. even if you don’t stay here, i totally recommend air bnb for your boulder stay- you can find some cool places close to or in the mountains that you can’t find with a hotel.
now, for where we ate! we basically go to boulder once a year just to eat our way through it :) we are so obsessed with the food and just exploring pearl street. so many good places, i can never hit them all in one trip! i was bummed the farmer’s market wasn’t going on during our trip in march, but if you go during the summer or fall it is my favorite farmer’s market ever!
i did link the websites—but i recommend just looking up a place on instagram or yelp to see photos of the food! i love doing that to see if it’s a place i would like.
amazing coffees, bulletproof drinks, and tonics (they have decaf drinks as well). we went here every day! i could drink/eat seriously every thing on the menu.
this was one of our favorite experiences of the trip! we were still on such a high from being engaged (we went the morning after), and we had the most delicious sourdough bread and pastry stuffed with local prosciutto and cheese, and some cbd coffee. all made with so much love! we talked to the owner a little, who was just the sweetest guy, and you could just tell how much love and passion he puts into his business. he even brought out a loaf of his fermenting sourdough to show me his technique! i was in love with this place! it’s the definition of a tiny hole in the wall place that you must try! i’ve even seen online that they sometimes have blueberry sourdough (!!!!)
wonder pressed juice
same as above- just so good! they have amazing smoothies, toasts, and little bites to grab a quick breakfast. we did this on our last morning of the trip.
i was SO bummed the pearl street location was closed when we came. the last time we came to boulder, this was my favorite spot. paleo or vegan options that are actually SO. GOOD. they do have another location and the new boulder location is set to open in 2019, so if you can get to them i highly recommend!
omg! these noodles— absolutely to die for. blake and i are both obsessed with asian cuisine, and we actually just stumbled on this hole in the wall while shopping around pearl street. you can make any of the noodle bowls gluten free, and they also have a gluten free/vegan dumpling option. i go the dan dan noodles and i will be dreaming about them until we can get back.
an awesome option for the paleo/gluten free foodie. they have set menu items like buffalo wings, cashew mac and cheese, etc. as well as a counter service where you can pick your proteins and sides. it’s a great casual spot to grab a healthy bite! terrible lighting, but wanted to show you what we got! you can also get the tacos on house made grain free tortillas!
same as above- great for breakfast or lunch :)
think local products, vegan/gluten free ice cream sandwiches (unreal and an absolute must!!), and a deli where you can get some pretty amazing looking sandwiches or bagel sandwiches. we came here solely for my hunt for these ice cream sandwiches, but blake came back on our last day and got an amazing deli sandwich (i obviously stole half).
wonder also has some awesome vegan/paleo little snacks when you need a little bite :)
for a nice dinner
this was our engagement dinner spot and will always hold a special place in my heart! we were totally on cloud 9 at this point and loving every moment, but it’s an amazing for any nice dinner occasion :) the service was great and so was the food. they were able to make things gluten free- house made gluten free pasta and gluten free bread to replace the bread basket if you need it! we did the four course meal and it was soo delish. the dessert was AMAZING! see below for the melty chocolate with a hemp/flax cracker and sunchoke ice cream! the wine was great, too!
