easy greek turkey meatballs + homemade tzatziki
i absolutely love me some mediterranean food! the flavor combos are some of my favorites. these greek meatballs are so simple, and so tasty paired with some easy tzatziki sauce and the works!
i’ve been loving these with a loaded fresh salad mix of cucumbers, tomatoes, red onion, and feta mixed with olive oil and balsamic. it’s such a simple meal to throw together for work lunches or an easy dinner. i also love these in some wraps! so so good every time.
you’ll be surprised how easy these meatballs are! they make for a delicious, lean protein that you can whip up in no time.
for the wraps, i used angelic bakehouse sprouted grain wraps. sprouted grains are easier on digestion and therefore make the nutrients more readily available for us to absorb. click here for $2 off now http://bit.ly/AngelicBitesByMia !
i can’t wait to hear what meals you guys put together with these!
for the meatballs:
1 lb ground turkey
1/4 cup finely diced red onion
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
pinch of red pepper flakes
2 tbsp of avocado oil (for the pan)
for the tzatziki:
1 single serve plain greek yogurt container
1/4 cup cucumber, finely diced
1 tbsp fresh dill, roughly chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
juice of 1 lemon
salt and pepper, to taste
combine all meatball ingredients (besides avocado oil) in a large bowl. form into about 12 small meatballs, then add to a skillet over medium heat with the avocado oil.
cook the meatballs for about 4-6 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked all the way through. remove from heat.
combine all tzatziki ingredients in a bowl. adjust salt and pepper to taste, then let flavors set for a few minutes before serving.
for the wraps, i use the angelic bakehouse wheat, spinach, or sweet potato wraps. layer with spinach, red onion, cucumber, meatballs, tzatziki, and feta. serve with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice (optional).
